Lost Horizon (band)
An exerpt from a fan encyclopedia says, "Lost Horizon were formed under the name Highlander in 1990 by Wojtek Lisicki, Joacim Cans, Martin Furängen, and Michael Nicklasson before the band was put on hold in 1995. Other musicians involved in Highlander included Stefan Elmgren, Baskim Zuta, Niclas Johnsson, and Patrik Räfling.
Lisicki, Furängen, and Christian Nyqvist reformed in the late '90s, briefly still as Highlander, before changing the name to Lost Horizon. Some songs from the early years of the band survived but were extensively rearranged. A two-song promotional demo was sent to record companies under the Highlander name in 1999 but was not publicly released.
Lisicki briefly left the band following the release of the second album but rejoined by the summer of 2004. It was around this time that Daniel Heiman and Fredrik Olsson departed to form Heed.
Lost Horizon has been in a semi-active state since the departures of Heiman and Olsson. At the start of 2008, the band returned to activity, but still have no replacement vocalist. A self-financed new album was announced and reported to be in the process of being fully recorded on a song-by-song basis, with vocal tracks intended to be added when a new singer was found.

Lost Horizon is a Swedish power metal band from Gothenburg. The band has esoteric stage personas similar to sword and sorcery fantasy, with the members wearing studded leather, cloaks and face paint. In their albums' liner notes, their stage names and roles are exaggerated to sound mystical and otherworldly in nature; for example, guitarist and lyricist Wojtek Lisicki is credited as the "Earthshape" of the "Transcendental Protagonist" and credited for "Poesy of Spiritual Enlightenment/String Romanticism", with his proper roles given as a "Translation For Mortals".
History
[edit]Lost Horizon originated from the band Highlander, formed in 1990 with future HammerFall member Joacim Cans on vocals. The band went on hiatus from 1994 to 1999. Then the band reformed as Lost Horizon with vocalist Daniel Heiman. Lost Horizon released their first studio album Awakening the World in 2001.
In 2002, the band gained two new members: second guitarist Fredrik Olsson and keyboardist Attila Publik. The new lineup released A Flame to the Ground Beneath in 2003. Heiman and Olsson left Lost Horizon two years later, putting the band on hiatus. Their official website released three instrumental demos ("Wizard", "Spirit" and "Fire") in 2009, but no new musical activities have been announced since then.
